According to Circular No. 1524/NHTT-TT dated March 13, 2019 of State Bank of Vietnam on the conversion of domestic debit cards to chip cards, by the end of 2021, banks need to complete the conversion of 100% magnetic cards that are now released.
Woori Bank has implemented a free program to convert domestic debit cards from magnetic technology to contactless chip technology for customers from July 2020. For customers who are still using magnetic domestic debit cards, please bring your old card along with your ID/Passport to the nearest Woori Bank transaction office for FREE card exchange until the end of March 31, 2022.
